Volunteer Appreciation Christmas Party ^

By Helen Henry, Board Chairperson
On Sunday December 9th, the Staff and Board of the Irish Pastoral Centre hosted the annual Volunteer Appreciation Christmas party in St. Brendan’s Hall.
A festive group gathered for a wonderful evening of conversation, dancing and a hearty meal. Music was provided by Mossie Coughlin. There were dance contests, for spot prizes, with many funny rules keeping the crowd engaged. Reels, waltzes, even the chicken dance had a turn. At one point, Father John gave dance lessons on how to do the Twist!
Westbury Farms catered the event with rave reviews of the food. Our readers are encouraged to engage the services of this fine Irish outfit for their own events.
With so many guests wearing antler headbands it was no surprise that Santa came by for a visit, I suspect, to recruit some back-up reindeer for his crew! Children young and old had their pictures taken with Santa and told him what was on their wish list for Christmas morning.
The spirit of the evening and camaraderie of the crowd was palpable; we are blessed to share in the mission of the Irish Pastoral Centre together. The Staff and Board of the Irish Pastoral Centre are very thankful for the efforts of our talented volunteers and remind our friends that many of the events and activities we enjoy happen because of those volunteers’ efforts.
Nollaig Shona dhuit!
