Disco of the Ages – a resounding success

Disco of the Ages – a Resounding success

The Irish Pastoral Centre depends on the generous support of many people so that it can continue to offer the programs and services to the Irish community. Given the current challenging economic environment, fundraising is more difficult and organizations like the Irish Pastoral Centre are always looking for new and innovative ways to generate much needed cash. This past Friday night over 350 people came together at Florian Hall in support of the Irish Pastoral Centre. The Disco of the Ages was a resounding success with young and old dancing the night away in support of a great cause. It was great to see everyone having fun socializing, dancing, taking part in the silent auction, and anxiously awaiting the results of the big raffle and the silent auction. A great night was had by all.

The winners of the grand prize of a Cruise for and two flights to Florida, was Sinead McGlynn from Co. Donegal.  2nd prize winner of an electric Scooter kindly donated by Kelly Financial Services of Braintree was Theresa Kelly from Co. Galway and 3rd prize of 40” flat screen TV was Michelle Donaghue from Co. Donegal.

A big thank you from the Board and Staff of the Irish Pastoral Centre to the organizing committee who stepped up to organize this event; they worked tirelessly to solicit donations for the raffle and the auction as well as spent hours during the planning stages. In addition, they worked their networks to get the word out there and sell tickets. A big thank you to the lads and ladies for your hard work and support – it is greatly appreciated. Thanks to the individuals and businesses who donated the raffle and auction items. A very special thank you to the 350+ people who attended the event or purchased tickets and raffle or simply made a donation, this money will go a long way to support all our programs that the Irish Pastoral Centre run for the Irish community of Boston.

Hope to see you all again next year Le Cunamh De.
